Warden Call

Latest System

This latest generation of Warden Call systems introduces new levels of performance to the market place together with a comfortable, ergonomic wall unit design acceptable to residents and staff alike. Featuring a cordless warden handset for on site use, alarm calls can be answered immediately without the need to 'plug in' to an accessible (or frequently inaccessible) wall unit.

Visually appealing, and described by residents as house furniture rather than institution equipment, the Advent wall mounted speech unit incorporates a readily identifiable privacy switch, red reassurance LED and British Standard orange alarm pull cord with two triangular handles. Should an alarm call be placed on the system by a cord - either directly attached to the unit or dispersed throughout the dwelling, privacy is automatically overridden.

In addition, alarm calls can also be activated by pendant radio triggers, smoke detectors, inactivity monitoring, intruder alert and other devices as deemed necessary.

As an aid to fast emergency response, staff safety and operational efficiency, the cordless warden handset can be linked to the external office telephone line to make and receive external telephone calls. Where a Tynetec door entry system or external enquiry point is installed, staff can communicate with visitors at the main entrance using the cordless handset and, depending on the system installation, remotely activate the door release.

Up to six cordless handsets together with two fixed handsets can be utilised on the Advent system, permitting staff to staff communication as well as the normal resident emergency calls.

As an enhancement to the standard on site and off site communications facilities featured by most current warden call systems, Advent features Tynetec's award winning local off site facility. This permits calls to be directed to a standard PSTN telephone or mobile cell phone - giving much greater flexibility in the management of sheltered accommodation. Local off site also enables calls to be made into the system from standard or mobile telephones, allowing the morning call to residents being made from an alternative location and allowing remote diagnostic calls from maintenance engineers.

The traditional Advent Warden Call System is installed using highly reliable radial wiring where each wall speech unit is individually connected back to the control equipment. However it is recognised that many sheltered schemes will retain existing cabling when new equipment is installed and a large number will be using loop or daisy chain type wiring.

Advent NT will connect directly to this type of wiring. There is no difference in the appearance of the wall speech unit and all the unique functions and features of Advent are retained.
